The Opportunity
We're building the thing that doesn't exist yet
If you've read how we think about this, you know the short version: school software today is a rigid ERP, a passive dashboard, or a chatbot bolted onto one of them. Each picks a single way for a person to relate to software. Real institutions need all three at once — and the people running them are not, and never will be, power users.
We're building an operating system for schools that holds those three together: reliable routine work, intelligence that surfaces what matters before anyone goes looking, and the ability to express intent in plain words — without the product collapsing into any of the three failure modes above, and without overwhelming a principal who has a school to run.
We have a working first version, a clear point of view formed over a long time watching how schools actually operate, and an incubation showcase ahead. What we're missing is a small number of exceptional people to help shape the experience itself.
What We Believe
(and won't compromise)
Not an ERP. The reliable parts should be boring on purpose — but reliability is the floor, not the ceiling.
Not a dashboard. Showing someone twelve numbers and leaving them to do the thinking is not intelligence. The system should surface the right thing and propose what to do about it.
Not a chatbot. Flexibility without structure is useless to someone who doesn't know what to ask. Intent-driven interaction has to live inside a system that's also discoverable and predictable.
Not AI bolted on top. Intelligence is not a widget you add to an old system. It changes what the interface should be.
The system executes, notifies, and logs — it never governs. Every consequential action has a human decision in front of it and a visible, reversible record behind it. For users handling children's records and parents' money, trust is the product.
